Values-Aligned Fair Use Statement

This framework was not written from neutrality. It emerges from the specific soil of Black queer survival, from abolitionist refusal, from the sacred labour of community care under pressure. It carries the breath of my ancestors and the dreams of my chosen family. Though I authored this framework, its roots are collective, ancestral, and ongoing. It belongs to a lineage of survival, not to me alone.

When you engage with this work, you are not consuming content—you are entering relationship.

🤲🏽 Share with Integrity

If this framework speaks to you, hold it with care. Let it live in spaces where healing and justice are inseparable. Share it in organizing circles, in peer support networks, in the margins where we build what the world insists is impossible.

You are welcome to adapt it for your communities—but keep those adaptations in the commons. Never lock this work behind paywalls, institutional credentials, or commodified platforms. Let it remain free to circulate, transform, and teach.

🗣️ Cite With Context

This work asks for acknowledgment—not as performance, but as a gesture of lineage and connection. Name its source. Honour the specific histories and embodied struggles that shaped it. Refuse the extraction that turns survival knowledge into content.

Academic citation is not inherently a form of solidarity.
If you cite this work, do so with context and care. Reference its political commitments. Name the communities it serves. Situate it within the struggle it emerges from.
Don’t extract what sounds radical while abandoning what is costly.
If you’re citing this to advance a professional career or meet publishing metrics, stop and ask: Am I in relationship with this work—or just using it?

🏛️ Institutional and Academic Use

If you represent an institution, organization, or academic program and want to engage this framework: pause. Don’t ask how you can use it. Ask how you can be in relationship with it.

Relationship begins with consent. Contact me before incorporating any part of this work into syllabi, trainings, research, toolkits, or institutional programs.

Let’s talk about what accountability and reciprocity could look like.

Commercial use—including use within tuition-funded or grant-funded programs—is not permitted without explicit written agreement and a structure of return that honours the communities from which this knowledge arises.

🌱 Accessibility and Non-Extraction

You are welcome to create accessible versions of this framework—translations, plain language summaries, screenreader-ready formats—so long as the spirit, politics, and intent remain unaltered and freely shared.

Whenever possible, share this work through non-extractive, surveillance-free platforms. Avoid uploading it to corporate repositories, institutional learning systems, or websites that monetize user data.

🛡️ Misuse and Accountability

If you encounter this work being used in ways that betray its intent—stripped of context, sold for profit, cited without credit, or used to justify carceral logics—name it. Call it back.

This work is defensible because it is rooted. Let’s protect the integrity of our survival knowledge together.

🔥 What This Is (and Isn’t)

This is not theory to debate or content to consume. It is living praxis. It is survival knowledge meant to move hand to hand, heart to heart, across geographies and generations. It is care as insurgency. It is a refusal to heal in isolation.

When you share or build from this work, let your offerings be free. Let them serve the same purpose: collective liberation. Let them remember that care, like knowledge, should never travel alone.

The circle widens. The work continues. The care moves on.
